In Shadows of a Fading Sun

By Tan Phung..

In this quiet room, where shadows play,

I lie alone, counting the passing hours.

Each breath a whisper of life's fragile song,

Where once I was strong, now just holding on.

In my veins, a silent war rages within,

A battle I cannot win, against an unseen sin.

The clock's tick, a relentless, cruel sound,

Echoing in a world where hope is drowned.

Memories, like ghosts, haunt my waking dreams,

Of laughter and light, now distant streams.

Love's tender touch, a fading ember's glow,

In the night of my soul, where no winds blow.

Tears trace paths on cheeks grown pale,

For a life unlived, a story half-tale.

Each moment a universe, slipping away,

Leaves me with words I can no longer say.

Pain, a constant echo of what used to be,

A reminder of a world I can no longer see.

Anger and sorrow, a tangled weave,

In this tapestry of life, I silently grieve.

But amidst the hurt, a flicker of peace,

A rare treasure, in this slow release.

Yearning for more, yet longing to forget,

In the depths of my being, a tangled net.

Is this the face of death, or life anew?

A journey's end, or a path untrue?

Each minute a millennium, a heavy toll,

As questions and fears drown my soul.

But in this darkness, a faint, distant light,

A glimmer of dawn, in the endless night.

Perhaps in this suffering, a lesson deep,

A final love, a promise to keep.

So here I lay, in the embrace of the end,

Where time and eternity seem to blend.

In this dance with death, a profound truth:

Each breath a fleeting moment of youth.

And when the final curtain falls at last,

May my spirit soar, free from the past.

In this slow farewell, a bittersweet grace,

As I journey forth, to another place.
