Wild sea surges, waves chasing and pushing one another.

Time takes flight on the wings of soaring birds. 

Dreams once vibrant,  now have faded away.

I retreat to the mountains, forgetting the old days.

The deceits of life and its glorious victories and bitter defeats forgotten.

Accept how the world’s currents push and pull human destiny. 

Waking up from a dream about the transient nature of life.

Releasing my soul on the path of clouds across the blue sky.

Pines whispering, streams calling the mountain forests, 

Alone, walking and gazing at the drifting clouds. 

Raising a wine gourd, emptying it to the last drop,

Feeling lightheaded and blissful, under this vast blue sky,

There’s no “selfness” of others, or of mine.
