ANIMATE A CHARACTER

WEIGHT AND PERSONALITY

Article 1

Analysis

This animation fulfills the outcome by showing that I am able to take an inanimate object and personify it. With in the ten seconds, I was able to give the flower sack its own unique weight implemented from beginning to the end that displayed its own unique personality traits.

Reflection

This little animation assignment was a fun yet challenging assignment because I had to take an object that had no human-like qualities and create a character that embodied it own quirks. This helped me to use my creative skills in developing a character that the audience can be entertained by.




Article 2

Analysis

This walk cycle animation fulfills the outcome because I was able to incorporate a unique personality shown in the character's walk. This can be seen through the weight in her strut, the determined position of her hands and arms and the confident expression in her face.

Reflection

This was a timed animation exam to put our skills of animating in Maya to the test. I knew I wanted to animate a character that was confident and sure of herself. It was meticulously fun to add those specific traits in to her walk cycle with in a short amount of time. From the hop in her stride to her puffed up chest, I believe I was able to reflect who this character is with in the allotted time.




Article 3

Analysis

These artifacts fulfill this outcome because I was able to create drawings that showed not only personality but also life in them. I grew in my skill of adding depth and weight to a character. I applied my understanding of human anatomy through the course and gave my drawings realistic gestures and character.

Reflection

These assignments were a blast to draw. I learned so much about how the human body moves and in ways that I have never drawn before. I enjoyed researching and learning about the different kinds of stylistic drawings. I was surprised with myself that I was able draw so many facial expressions and styles.
