Oliver's illness worsened as some kind of darkness began to consume his body. More and more, his skin started to peel off and his skeletons began to show. The regiment had no time for waiting, so they set out to find a mage, or a healer. Finding the cure for Oliver's weakness, the RBR stumbled upon Tiffany - an eager elf mage student who knows Sanamancy, this would help them relieve at least a bit of Oliver's pain.
Days passed and Oliver finally stabilized, but his skin began to grow again, and his strength soon went back. Tiffany, due to her efforts of being a good follower, was finally welcomed to the army as a medic. She did not fight, as her efforts kept on going to stabilize Oliver. The more she tried to help him, roots of glowing light green veins protruded from her finger, to her neck. Whenever she would stop however, it would always hurt Oliver.
Following Tiffany, news had spread of the Red Blood Regiment's achievements of helping the kingdom. The strongest, and fiercest warriors all went to this new army to sign up. They were promised Fortune, Adventure, and a brotherhood of comrades. The new Queen, named D'hadi Magrin, granted them a safe passage to their base, and the community grew evermore. The peasant community also grew, as other races like elves came to aid. Lady Emilia especially would like this as she was one of the only elves in the Army. Along with this, she also developed a good friendship with Anno, as the two got along pretty well in the camp. Although the rest were busy in their camps, something called Kindred.
Or was it someone?
Kindred was suddenly ordered by the king. He was needed for something. Some assassins from a far-away kingdom called Sarang-Gani had found his identity, and they had threatened to kill him and the Queen if he ignored it. Time was not on his side, so he had to employ Gold, and Jonathan on his side to leave the camp at midnight to kill the rest of the assassins before they kill the king.
John woke up from his slumber seeing his superiors gone. Since he was the one person left, it meant that he was in charge. He assumed this position to head back to the castle. But as he continued on, the new recruits became furious since they had no training yet. They began to quarrel. and soon, they fought each other. Chaos erupted in the kingdom, and along with this, had civilian casualties.
When Kindred and the others had returned, it was already too late. The Regiment's reputation had been tarnished. They went to the castle, full of regret that they did what they did. Kindred especially felt like it was his fault for leaving the Kingdom at a very crucial moment.
The Queen heard this, and was not impressed. His best regiment, turned rabid. Kindred asked for forgiveness and promised to structure the regiment's order so that this incident does not happen again. Queen D'hadi agreed. And with this, they were given a mission to pay for their debts.
"Go to the the insurgent camp near the north. The Town of Ravenhill has been attacked recently by some bandit vikings, and orcs that are still fighting even after the great orc war. They are still considered Sicarians, but please, do not start a war." Queen D'hadi said.
"Do not what?-" Kindred asked, confused...
"It means to take no prisoners" Alvin, now the advisor, whispered to his ear.
The regiment knew that the north was dangerous. The last attack almost killed them as the orcs were too many. But as the orcs were driven off, the remaining orcs were the ones that they needed to take care of. They had the numbers advantage, but they cannot let any of them escape. Letting them escape would mean another war with Sicarius, and they would not want that at all.
"Alright," said Anno. "I suggest we ambush them."
"Very well," said the general.
The north was cold, but there was no water to find. They hid in a cave and planned their attack. It was all quiet, as if no one was there. There, the Red Blood Regiment camped, while waiting for morning to arrive.
Once dawn arrived, the RBR found that the orcs were still sleeping. With this, it was a great opportunity. They charged with full strength and attacked their tents one by one. No survivors were caught, and no one was spared. It was the queen's order. And no orc, nor viking, was going to be left alive.
Goner, did his best to battle off 5 men at once, and was almost stabbed in the back, but Alvin was there to throw is sword at the barbarian. Kindred was busy ensuring the team was well off on their attacks and was fighting the enemies one by one. Anno was on top of a hill fighting more vikings and throwing them off the cliff. John was busy fighting the 2 generals of the vikings. And Jonathan was busy fighting the Orc Chief Ed'Mur.
The battle lasted for over an hour, but in the end, they won.
Alvin was heavily injured, and then tried to fight everyone. He was stopped by the rest of the regiment, before succumbing to his wounds. He was unconscious, but was not dead... yet.
