As Alvin’s injuries worsened, Kindred and the others went to the market to move away from the chaos in the infirmary, and to find healing potions for their injured comrade. There they met ‘Hex’, a Sanamancer, capable of healing people.

Hex helped Alvin recover quickly, and Alvin explained that the reason why he attacked his comrades as well was because of his demonic condition known as a ‘Dark State’, where a demon gets incredibly aggressive and angry once they are on the verge of death.

Oliver felt threatened by this and asked Hex to take this condition out of him. Hex hesitated, but eventually agreed to do it, causing him to develop a streak of glowing veins towards his shoulder as the spell occurred.

As both of the men finally recovered, Kindred met a woman named Ichikari, who wanted to join The Red Blood Regiment so eagerly, who then seduced Kindred and told him that she was here for adventure. Kindred gave him gifts and even gave him a position in the RBR as a messenger, and even gifted her the Insignia of The Red Blood Regiment.

The Red Blood Regiment, after a day, then decided to do an assault on Mt. Alfheim after they received a report that there were some dwarves that decided to create illegal Dragonskin armor. The fight was violent, and many of the RBR soldiers became injured. Hex, still trying to recover his mana, and with his glowing veins still around his bicep, did a spell to heal everyone in the team. It was effective, but it was at the cost of his life.

Hex fell into an epileptic seizure, then came his screams of terror, then his cries of agony. He hit his head repeatedly on the floor, and kept screaming “Kill me! Kill me!”

Kindred used his bow and arrow to shoot him in the head, realizing that he suffered from what most mages suffer from if they use too much magic - Sorcerer’s Syndrome. After Ichikari saw Kindred kill his own comrade, she left, before leaving the insignia in Kindred’s pocket.
