In the world of The Selyrian Chronicles, you can be almost anyone you wish to be. However, there are still rules that people should follow. We want a fair and balanced world with fair and balanced characters. This is to prevent power creeping, and to ensure that everyone has an equal ground when it comes to interacting with everyone. Here are the rules.
Which means no Gods, or demigods. If you wish to be a demon, it is required you read the TSC Race list to know how demons work since Dark, Light, or Holy Magic does not exist in the world of TSC.
The OC Profile Format is in the guidelines forum. You may add sections onto the OC profile, but cannot remove from it. (unless there is optional written next to it.)
It is not meant to be a constant update story for your lore. Make it brief and simple, or long if you want, but always make sure that it is about your past and not your present.
Avoid having weaknesses that are just unattainable in practice. Most races in TSC have similar weaknesses, but if it comes to you adding nuance to your character, make sure to follow these logical ideas.
Powerful mages are not great fighters.
Great fighters are not great in fighting magic people
Spellswords are able to balance both things, but are not great at both.
The only time you can create another OC is when your primary OC dies, or if there are staff-accepted reasons such as you having an important role that the TSC Staff needs you to do, or other extremely important reasons. Once you create a new OC, you cannot use your former character anymore. This is to prevent a loophole to the 1 OC only rule.
Keep in mind that you can still create non-canon OCs from other TSC Factions if you wish to participate in their sessions as a different person and you are not able to turn these non-canon characters into canon characters.
The Race list can be accessed by clicking here:
If you leave and don’t leave a notice. In 6 months, your character will be killed.
Your OC can only be in the canon lore if you write in the featured stories channel, or if the lore writers see it fit.
Lore Writers can write your character based on your previous actions.
They can choose to not include you in the canon lore.
The Lore Writers can kill off your character if you have left the server for 6 months without notice.
No guns
No mechs
No steam engines
No explosive devices
No chemical-type weapons or items like acid or poisonous gas.
If the TSC Staff sees that you are loopholing this rule such as mimicking the properties of guns, chemical weapons, or explosives, then this may count as a strike which could land you in the offense logs.
The Magic System can be found by clicking this button:
Once you create an OC, your nickname in the TSC Server will be changed to your OC's name
Please do not change your nickname unless there is a very important reason like a character death. This is to prevent confusion, and to promote consistency in the community.
While you can have a child OC, any depiction of an adult character with child-like behavior and features is prohibited
Therefore, any copyrighted character (examples being Walter White, Mario, or Sonic) or Real Life Historical Figures (such as Napoleon) will be denied.
However, you can have some resemblance in some areas. You can have ‘face-claims’ as long as that character has their own lore, identity, and personality.
This includes the following:
Adding people to your lore or character profile without their permission.
Becoming direct family members like siblings or parents. This also goes for when you join a noble family. If that causes you to become a sibling or parent of another person then you have to ask and gain permission.
Killing or seriously injuring another's character/s.
Forms of controlling other characters or forcing them to change.
it is imperative that they undergo the verification process within the main server of TSC by a moderator
Should your OC be accepted into a faction or any other sub-server aside from the main one, they will be considered non-canon, lacking official verification, and thus ineligible for usage within the TSC Community.

If the Canon Lore has stated an attribute of your character, please do not change the specific aspect of it. This promotes consistency in the story.
For example; if your character is a pyromancer at your first OC profile, and the canon lore has stated that they are a pyromancer, you are not allowed to change them into a different mage type, and you may have to change your OC if you really wish to further push your magic.
Once your OC has received approval from moderation and is marked with a checkmark, you won't be able to make any further edits or modify your character's attributes such as their race, gear, magical abilities, etc.
New lore related information do not need to be updated regularly.
If you wish to make new changes to your OC, you will need to resubmit your OC profile meaning sending it again. When doing so, please ensure that you submit a finalized version rather than making numerous minor adjustments with each submission.
Note: If it isn't stated in your oc-profile, then your character does not possess that kind of weapon, armor, ability, skill, and any other change
Your character and OC profile must make sense within TSC lore and be realistic for the in-lore year of TSC. Of course, there are fantasy aspects however you have to make sure that those are possible and allowed within TSC. To get a better feel of what is possible you can look on the website if something exists, if it isn't on the website then you can take it that it doesn't exist or isn't possible within TSC.
Things to keep in mind
Consider the knowledge, resources, and possessions that an ordinary commoner in medieval times would typically have.
Some powerful things within TSC require Executive permission to use, however, most things are allowed without permission due to the locked permissions usually because of lore reasons or to keep things balanced and fair among players.
To learn more about the permission, Click below on the Permission requirement guide.
Disclaimer: Not everything you must ask permission for has been added yet.
This goes without saying, NO Loopholes. If the mods deem that your OC profile is classified as a loophole, they can and have the right to deny it. Examples of loopholes follow as such:
- Conjoined twins with one twin that's physically strong and the other a strong mage.
- Trying to have multiple OCs by just switching every couple months.
- Trying to be physically strong and use magic.
Those were just examples, but if any loopholes were found in the future and the mods flag it, they have the right to flag it down and deny you.
Think it's a mistake? Contact the Admins.
For your OC to be allowed within TSC, you will have to get your character verified within the main server. Getting accepted in a faction doesn't count as your character being canon in the main server.
Non-canon characters/ideas may only deviate from the normally established character rules when everybody involved in the roleplay or is affected by the deviation gives you permission to allow for the specific rule break.
Every interaction with a non-canon character that deviates from the rule is automatically non-canon.
For each time your non-canon character deviates from the established character rules, you must ask permission again.
If only one person doesn’t give permission for the deviation then you may not use it and you should respect their decision.
People have the ability to revoke their permission and you should also respect that.
If a moderator is present then they may enforce the original character rules and deny your permission to deviate from the normally established character rules even if every roleplayer gave their permission.
