Green is the colour I think of when I see you
Green in your shoes, green in your eyes, green in the envy that within me lies.
Envy, because you were the one who made my heart yearn
But someone else was the one who got to learn
What it means to be yours-
Be yours in the most profound yet simple way,
to love you and all your pain,
To cherish you
and all you've gained from this empty world which could never amount to the wonder I see inside of you.
You as the person who made my heart warm,
You as the one who made me feel torn
Between giving you all I have, hoping you'd make it yours
And giving you away, letting you love your flaws.
Flaws that I may see,
Flaws that I may not.
Flaws that to you, are all you've got.
Though I see beyond the scars you bear
See beyond the heart, that you try to tear-
Tear from the green world,
with green envy left in its wake
But also tear
from the love you could never forsake.
And though I do realise we are not a possibility
You are still the green wonder, I love
Endlessly.
