Character Templates

This template is an analytical tool that can help to keep track of the main attributes of a character within your story.

It essentially turns main traits into numbers and provide a visual representation so you can determine with one glance which attributes are the main driving forces and help you better judge what the proper reaction of a character would be in any given situation.

In addition the template asks you important questions about the character where answering the questions can yield important details about the background and deeper motivations of the characters, that you can utilize in your story.

This template is a tool to help you get in touch with a character and to have the major attributes all listed in front of you so you can quickly do fact-checking.

It comes in handy when you working with more than a couple characters or when you took a break from the story and need to get re-acquainted with the defining characteristics and personal history.

Regular Character sheets can be cumbersome for being effective on the fact checking about a given character's background and the difficulties increase with the number of characters you have in a story. To overcome that, this Character Summary is working like an excerpt, showing you the bare necessities that is just enough to remember the details.

In addition this Summary is handy for creating side characters, so called NPCs - Gaming term: Non Player Character where said characters are only there to populate the world - because you don't need more details than this template is asking for, and even that small amount can become a basis to expand upon if you'd feel the need to make an NPC a prominent side character.
