Scary Movie is an American horror comedy film series that comprises five parody films, mainly focusing on spoofing horror films. The films have a combined gross of almost $900 million at the worldwide box office. The two recurring actresses are Anna Faris and Regina Hall as Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks, appearing in all installments except the fifth film.

Scary Movie is the first film of the franchise and Directed By Keenen Ivory Wayans.[1] It was the highest-grossing film of the series, with $278,019,771 worldwide. It is a spoof of several films and television shows, with a primary focus on Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer.[2]

Scary Movie 3 is the third film of the franchise. With $220,673,217 earned worldwide,[3] it is the second most successful film in the series. The plot of the film is a spoof of The Ring and Signs as well as several other films and celebrities. Michael Jackson planned to sue the filmmakers for parodying him in such a way that made him seem like a child molester and having a fake nose.[4] This was the first Scary Movie film to receive a PG-13 rating in the United States[3] as well as the first to have no involvement from the Wayans family.[5][6]

Scary Movie 4 is the fourth film of the franchise. The film opened with $40 million at the weekend box office, making it the third best opening in the series. With a $178,049,620 at the worldwide box office, Scary Movie 4 ranks as the third highest grossing entry. The main target of spoof was War of the Worlds, Saw, The Village and The Grudge. The film concludes the story-arc that began with the first film and is also the last in the series to feature any of the original cast members.

Scary Movie 5 is the fifth film of the franchise. It is the only film in the series to not feature Anna Faris and Regina Hall. The film was panned by critics and fans alike, and grossed $72,992,798 worldwide in the box office, thus being the least successful film in the franchise.

The Producers received mixed critical response. Kwon Ji-youn writing for The Korea Times called the premier of drama "great boast and small roast" reasoning that despite having "an all-star cast, impressive cameos and an original setting and plot" the drama was "nothing out of the ordinary." She praised Kim Soo-hyun's acting calling the transformation from his former character on My Love from the Star "striking" and he and Gong Hyo-jin were only able to pull off humour scenes.[38] It also received criticism from entertainment industry insiders regarding its verisimilitude, particularly in the drama's depiction of producers as the weaker party in dealing with celebrities, which they claimed is "highly unrealistic" unless top stars are involved.[39]

A producer behind the legendary Jason Bourne franchise is hoping to add a sixth movie to the limitless filmography of the series. Jason Bourne arrived at the beginning of the century and immediately became one of the best action characters in cinema, boosting Matt Damon's star to stratospheric levels. After the initial trilogy of films, however, the franchise has been all over the map, with a spinoff film and a short-lived television series now part of the franchise's legacy.

The last time the character was seen was in 2016 with Jason Bourne, almost a decade after The Bourne Ultimatum wrapped up the first trilogy of movies. The excitement of seeing Damon back in the title role drove Jason Bourne towards box office success, with the movie pulling in $415 million worldwide. Critics were not as friendly about the series' return, however, garnering a franchise-low 55 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Damon has since expressed trepidation about bringing the franchise back for a sixth installment (the fourth featured Jeremy Renner in the leading role).

Frank Marshall wants to bring Jason Bourne back again, though. According to Collider, Marshall expressed interest in adding another film to the franchise. He elaborated on his hopes, adding there may be an opportunity for a new filmmaker to pilot the franchise. Paul Greengrass has directed three of the five movies in the series, and his ability to return or not could have a direct impact on whether or not Damon wants to return as well.

Ultimately, the production of a sixth film would depend largely on the return of the main players involved in the creation of the previous movies, particularly Damon. There will also be interest in a fan-favorite character like Jason Bourne, especially at a time when sequels, reboots and revivals are all the rage. Treadstone - the television series based on the franchise - only lasted one season on USA Network. But it may have provided the perfect tarmac to send another Jason Bourne movie into the universe.

Despite the ongoing strikes which have halted most productions going on in Hollywood, work is still ongoing on pre-production for major projects, and some encouraging news has come out regarding one of the more high profile films in the works. Death Stranding, the proposed adaptation of the video game created by Metal Gear Solid's Hideo Kojima, remains in pre-production and producer Allan Ungar has given some positive news about the film.

On February 27, 2014, Notch posted on Twitter that Mojang Studios' partnership with Warner Bros. about a Minecraft film was being "leaked", saying that he wanted to be the one to leak it out.[3] That same day, it was reported that Roy Lee and Jill Messick were added as producers.[4]

On January 3, 2019, it was reported that Jim Berney has been appointed for the film's visual effects.[15] Later that same month, it was reported that Peter Sollett would write and direct the film, with Jon Berg being added as a producer, and Jon Spaihts being added as an executive producer, along with information about the plot revolving around the Ender Dragon destroying the Overworld.[12] This information would be confirmed the following April in a blog post made on the Minecraft website, announcing that the film would be released on March 4, 2022.[1]

On April 18, 2022, it was reported that Jared Hess would direct the film, along with Chris Bowman and Hubbel Palmer writing the latest script. Lydia Winters and Mary Parent were also added as producers, while Cale Boyter was also added as an executive producer.[17][18]

Obliterated comes from executive producers, showrunners, writers, and directors Hurwitz, Schlossberg, and Heald, the trio behind the hit action comedy Cobra Kai. Prior to the Karate Kid sequel series, Hurwitz and Schlossberg penned the script for Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle and co-wrote and co-directed Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay and American Reunion. Meanwhile, Heald wrote Hot Tub Time Machine and its sequel.

But it is no longer enough. Two network executives, played by the always-hilarious Sam Richardson and Zoe Chao (also of this week's "Your Place or Mine"), cancel the series. The show has consumed Ally's entire life. It defines her. She has never taken those ten seconds to consider whether she's where she wants to be. With no idea of what to do next, she decides to go to the one place she was sure she didn't want to be, her hometown.

A bit more grounded, indeed. I had the chance to speak with the movie's producer, Todd Garner, and its director, Simon McQuoid, to discuss a range of topics including how the filmmakers incorporated fatalities, how they decided which characters from the games to include, why they created an entirely new character to act as the protagonist of the film, and the Mortal Kombat cinematic master plan. Oh, and why isn't Johnny Cage in the movie? Here's what they had to say.

And then the question became, well, then how do you bring all those disparate stories together in a way that serves the larger story and the more emotional story in that original Hanzo Bi-Han story? That's why early on James [Wan, producer] and I decided we were going to create this Cole Young character, because we didn't want to take a character that existed in the game and manipulate that character so that it was helping us tell the story. So we started from a fresh perspective and used a character that we could manipulate for lack of a better word, to help us bring all those other stories together in a way that the rules and the lore of the game would be front and centre, without taking a character and unravelling the hard work that Ed [Boon] and John [Tobias, Mortal Kombat co-creators] have already done.

Todd Garner: I mean, the dream is to sit down with Ed and John and Warner Bros. and Simon and the writers and look at a board with all of the characters on it and do what Marvel was able to do, which is to map out intelligently a series of movies and things to tie all the characters together and give them all their due. 17dc91bb1f
