Assign code names (famous mathematicians? Vocabulary terms? Harry Potter characters?) and find a spot on the wall to hang the chart. Your students may develop some competition over making quick progress! See the presentation for how I use the wall chart to track student progress.
Hide/unhide columns B and C in the Excel spreadsheet to see real names and sections. Bigger is better, so perhaps print on legal size paper, tape a few sheets together, or print on a large format printer. You can buy little post-it flags to cover up cells that are not yet unlocked.
