Have you been feeling overwhelmed, burned-out, or just sad? All of those states can take a serious toll on your mental and also physical well-being. Often, experiencing them can make you feel like it is impossible to get out of bad habits, and can lead to being stuck in a very negative headspace.
However, what can help you get out of the cycle of negative thoughts is changing the small things.
An example of this would be to make your bed in the morning right after getting up. This action is a productive way to start your day and can make you more motivated to get other important things done.
Implementing even a simple habit like this might seem daunting, but taking one day at a time is important. Remind yourself that you don't have to be perfect and consistency doesn't have to mean doing something every day but rather just most of the time.
Another thing you might want to consider when trying to improve your quality of life is exchanging bad habits with good ones. For example, if you find yourself staying up late into the night because of your phone, instead of putting it near your bed when you enter your room, try to put it as far away as possible from where you sleep. This way, you'll have to get up to grab your phone and the dopamine is delayed, which can give you time to think about whether you really want to use it.
Give yourself a chance and the new habits you implement might change your life for the better.
