What is it?
Hundreds joined in to run the annual Charlottenburg cross-country run on 8.10.2025. In the pouring rain, roughly a few hundred students laced up their shoes and powered through Volkspark Jungfernheide to compete in their next races. Despite the rain, 24 out of the 45 students from our school who signed up between the ages of 12 and 18 ran, but how many made it through to the next round? The grey conditions left the trail a muddy obstacle but that didn’t stop anyone.
How was the event organized?
The race kicked off at 9 o’clock in the morning with the oldest students first and made its way down to the youngest racers, ending at roughly 11:45. The race was divided not only by your birth year, but also by sex, letting there be ten separate races in our school alone. Regardless of age, everybody ran the same distance of 3km. It circled around the Jungfernheide pond and the best fifteen runners from your race qualified for the next race. Out of our school eight students from our school qualified for the next race, where they will race to get into the next qualifying round.
What were the race results?
Out of the eight students from our school, the two fastest times for males were Keanu from 9a with 11:09 and Tizian from Q1 with 11:46, the former getting fifth place and the latter the third place, giving our school a significant lead.
Thanks to Herr Fraikin's determination and enthusiasm, students were successfully able to participate smoothly in the event and make sure all participating students went into the race prepared.
