Let us introduce you to our choir members.
Sopranos.
Beverley 'I joined the choir over 20 years ago after a choir trip to France with my mother. I enjoy singing and have learned to read music and much more. I like being part of the team and have made some really good friends'.
Pat 'I read an advert in the local newspaper asking for singers for a choir just starting up. So I joined The Marlowe Singers some 40 odd years ago. I loved to sing but could not read music, but over the years I have learned a great deal about music and singing, such a wonderful feeling and The Marlowe Singers are the ideal choir'.

Susan 'I had been wanting to sing again for years but had not made any effort to find a suitable choir. I love singing but had no musical training, so feared it would be too difficult. The Marlowe Singers is the perfect level for me. We sing a variety of interesting pieces which, with the help of very experienced members of the choir, has encouraged me to improve my music reading skills and re-learn how to sing!
Jane 'I had always enjoyed singing, so when a friend suggested I try the Marlowe Singers, I went along to try it out. I have now been with the Marlowe Singers for many years and still enjoy it as much as ever! Over the years the choir has changed with different membership and Musical Directors, but it has retained its identity of singing a wide range of different styles of music. The members also have a wide range of backgrounds, but we all come together to practice and create musical performances. It is an excellent way of meeting people and over the years I have made many friends through belonging to the Marlowe Singers'.

Dee 'My name is Dee and I have been a member of The Marlowe Singers for nearly 10 years now. I have always sung in choirs, at school and since, when I can. I found The Marlowe Singers in the local advertisor The Net. I went along and someone came to talk to me as I walked in the door. Everyone was very friendly and by the end of the practise, I felt that I had always been going. Here I am still a member. I like the variety of songs we sing and feeling part of creating something. Singing is so beneficial for mental and physical health. The members are really friendly and supportive of each other and I would highly recommend. Come along , no audition needed.
Altos
Julia 'I joined The Marlowe Singers in Autumn 2007 after attending their summer concert, where the music and the singing overwhelmed me to tears! I love music and enjoy singing in harmony. It is also good for my health!
Doreen ' At the beginning of 2019 I was asked if I would ‘help out’ the alto section of the Marlowe Singers for their Spring concert. Well here it is 2026 and I am still here! I stayed because I enjoyed the variety and the challenge of the music from classical to jazz and everything in between. I like to think we are a friendly bunch and warmly welcome anyone who joins – as I was told after that 2019 concert ‘You’re one of us now.’
