Beerichthys ingens was a marine species of fish which had an active lifestyle and was carniverous. It is in the geological record between 56.0 - 47.8 Ma and can be found at a varity of different London Clay sites. These sites include Sheppey and Seasalter.
It can be recognised by the very large and flat operculum and the presence of Sclerotic ossicles. It is found as skulls in phosphatic nodules as seen below.
