due to the ongoing success of our volunteering opportunities we now offer a formalised volunteering programme. Our initial groups of students have mainly been youngsters seeking work experience and learning new skills. We take individuals f rom schools, further education colleges via referrals from social work an some folks simply come down and ask to help out. We go not turn anyone away irrespective of age sex or gender.
Although we don't not pay wages we offer tea/coffee an biscuits on the house with some fine banter. We would hope to give all our trainees a good grounding in all aspects of bike fettling, Hopefully you will learn about safe usage of power tools, safe practice regarding compressed air such as spray guns. We involve all our students in everything bike from dismantling scrap bikes through repair and rebuild through to assisting a member of the public to purchase a suitable bike. Although bikes are our primary focus we could offer interested individuals work experience in administration workshop organising and Facebook an website development.
Bottom line if you have free time on a Monday, Wednesday or a Friday an want to use some of that time helping others then come down to Carnarvon Street for a blether. Everything we do here is to benefit the less fortunate in society an keeping politics out of it the numbers of less fortunate seems to be increasing rapily.
