Please enjoy some of the many memories we have collected to share!
These images were taken at the Great Salt Lake State Park on January 26th, 2024 in the hour leading up to and the hour following sunset. The Great Salt Lake State Park is located on the southern edge of the lake, and allows visitors to view the lake from a pier or access paths that lead down to the beaches. Wonderful views of the Ouquirrh Mountains, the Wasatch Range, and Antelope Island
These photographs were taken along the southern shore of the Great Salt Lake on January 27th, 2024 in the early hours following sunrise. Along the southern shore is Black Rock, which was one of the original bathing beaches in the mid-1800s. We also see the remains of the grand pier of the original Saltair Pavillion, which burned down for the third and final time in 1970. From the grounds of the new Saltair Venue, visitors can see how far the lake has receded in recent years, with ½ mile of exposed sand and salt between the previous shore and the current water's edge. In other areas along the shore, puddles of recently melted snow and lush cattails fill in where the lake used to be.
