In the shadow of the Great Salt Lake's expanse,
Where spirits linger and bird songs dance,
Native voices echo through the air,
Whispering secrets of land and prayer.
In sacred ceremonies, they gather near,
To honor the lake, to hold it dear.
Their chants rise high, to the heavens above,
As they plead for mercy, for grace, for love.
But the air grows thick with a toxic hue,
As death and despair begin to ensue.
Birds fall silent, their wings weighed down,
By the poisonous air that now surrounds.
Humanity's folly, a heavy toll,
As greed and neglect take their toll.
The lake, once a beacon of life and light,
Now fades into darkness, into endless night.
Yet amidst the sorrow, a flicker of hope,
A chance to rise, to break free from the rope.
For in unity lies our strength and our might,
To save the Great Salt Lake! To make things right!
