Compact submachine gun developed in the USA.The first prototype of the M10 was developed by American designer Gordon B. Ingram in 1964. In August 1964, work was completed on the creation of a set of drawings, in September 1964, the first prototype of this weapon was manufactured and in October 1964 — included in the catalog of products of the company "Erquiaga Arms". However, on February 17, 1965, during an inspection of the company "Erquiaga Arms", the prototype was confiscated by the police.In 1966, Ingram manufactured a second prototype of the M10 (for a magazine from a 9-mm English STEN machine gun), which he offered to representatives of the US Department of Defense as a replacement for the M1911A1 pistol for certain categories of US military personnel, and also began offering the manufacture of the M10 for export.
