How to Become a Member of The Craftworkers' Guild

  1. Notify the Membership Committee of your interest.

You can do this in one of three ways:

  • Complete and mail the "interest" form on the back of The Craftworkers' Guild pamphlet: "Supporting Arts and rafts in the Community" OR

  • Send an email expressing your interest to CraftworkersGuild@gmail.com, OR

  • Contact the Membership Chairperson directly by using information provided by any member.

  1. Carefully review the materials about The Craftworkers' Guild that you receive as a result of your initial contact.

  2. A representative from the Membership Committee will contact you to discuss your interest in The Craftworkers' Guild and answer any questions you might have.

  3. We strongly encourage prospective members to begin to attend meetings regularly and to visit our shop during the seasonal fairs. You must attend at least one meeting of The Craftworkers' Guild before you are eligible to attend an orientation session (see below) and apply for membership.

  4. Attend a Membership Orientation, which is an information meeting typically held only twice a year, in March and August. Application forms are only available to those who attend a Membership Orientation meeting.

  5. Complete and return the "Membership Application" to the Treasurer, along with a $25 check made out to The Craftworkers' Guild for your initial dues. After joining, you will be matched up with a committee assignment and a mentor.

  6. After your membership has been established, if you would like to sell your personally handmade wares at Guild Fairs, you may apply to the Jury and Standards Committee for review and possible acceptance of your work.

  7. After your work has been accepted by the Jury and before you participate in your first Fair, you must attend a Merchandising Seminar to review information about participation in Guild Fairs, and help determine the most suitable arrangements for labeling and displaying your crafts in our venue.

  8. Before working at a Fair, you must participate in a Shop Worker Training Session. All members must complete this training and demonstrate competency at the necessary skills in order to work in the shop.
