Dwi Luni, or “Under Moon” in common is the name of the Village under the Moon. This small village was formed by two main families: The Veils and The Wisps. The Veils were the swords of Dwi Luni, originally being mostly humans, while the Wisps were the mind, which were mostly elves. Thanks to Moonfall, the humans and elves could live centuries, plenty of time to conquer the world around them and gain the knowledge needed to create a booming civilization. During the creation, the asamoi Yiq Nii stumbled upon this small civilization. In a form of generosity, the Astomoi bestowed a great power on the first Veil: Fomalhaut. The curse of the Star stripped away all memories of the bearer, and would render them useless. However, if they overcame all adversaries and still achieved great power, the mark would be unlocked. Which in turn grants them immense power and longevity. This curse is passed down randomly from generation to generation and appears as a birthmark. The birthmark is different from bearer to bearer, Fomalhaut’s sigil is an ellipse with a spot in the center. Sometime randomly in the life of the bearer, their mind is completely wiped clean of all memories and abilities besides basic instinct. Then the comrades of the bearer must exile them into the wilderness, the trial cannot be completed unless the bearer reaches true power by themselves. The first Veil completed the trial and used the power to build the village under the moon, he was known as Fomalhaut the Protostar.
The name itself originates from the village being located atop a large bleached mountain, where the Moon would stare down on the village below it. The Wisps were able to create a barrier around the small village, which would mask the village from outside, making the mountain from a distance look normal. The barrier puts a strange effect on the sky, like a large convex lens, it warps the size of the Moon and stars, creating a brilliant display. And thanks to The Moon’s Grave being generally nearby, the auras make this place truly a sight to see.
The Village now is a large kingdom, then reaches towards the sky and pours down the mountain side. Large infrastructure that uses green technology like wind turbines and dams are sprinkled among the village. These are used to pump various things like water and sewage in and out of the city, as well as the elevators and other forms of transportation. The buildings are mostly made of the grey, white and silver stones in the area. The architecture is a weird mix of elven and old human. Some buildings are built into the large wildlife and the mountain side, while others are more human, where towards and houses are long and flat. As Dwi Luni became larger, word spread of the kingdom atop the Bleached Lands would be sought after. However, one cannot just immigrate into Dwi Luni, besides being difficult to find and get into, the city is heavily guarded and outsiders are looked down upon. However, Dwi Luni is a very diverse city with lots of different families, but all the residents are either Humans, Half-Elves or Elves. The only way for people to live in Dwi Luni, is for a Lunarian to marry or have relations with an outsider. Then all young or people related by law to a Lunarian are welcome.
To respect the origins of Dwi Luni, Lunarians introduce themselves as residents from “The Village under the Moon,” an ode to the original and small village hidden in white.
