Holidays: Solstice Eve: The night before the winter solstice, followers celebrate and honor the time when Sirin of the Broken Moon began her journey of breaking her fate and ascending to godhood. The night is celebrated by placing one's weapon in the ground and staring at the setting sun until it fully goes under the horizon. When the sun is out of sight, worshipers flip their coin or holy object to see if their fate will be kind to them for the next year. Heads: Fate is on their side and the next year should be prosperous, but they will use this good fortune to forage on and become better people. Tails: Fate will test them this year, this should harden their resolve and push them to break their fate.
Herald: Eksi, The Great Wyrm Silver Dragon, Bringer of Ice and Frost. Or one of her five kids: Solstice, Calisto, Celestine, Celine, and Sirinity.
Obedience: Design or find a coin or two-sided object that bears significance to you. When met with a tough decision (moral dilemmas, life or death situations) that requires time or lots of thought, flip the coin and have fate decide for you. Gain a +2 save against fear effects.
The Star's Chosen are the most elite warriors and minds in all of Dwi Luni. The current Star, or leader of Dwi Luni, choses the best of the best in eight different categories of combat and prestige. Some positions are obtained through competitions and festivals throughout the years while other require lots of prerequisites and high ranks in government or society.
The categories are as follows:
The Star's Sword
The Star's Bow
The Star's Conscience
The Star's Strategist
The Star's Radiance
The Star's Warmth
The Star's Cloak
The Star's Beast
Currently Held By: (Vacant) - Atlus Aer was slain by a drow named Skiller Koi and the position is vacant.
This position is determined through the Arma Di Luni festival that takes place every five years. Any warrior that wields a blade can take part. The festival takes place in a large colosseum where contestants dual, complete challenges, and test their might against the very best of Dwi Luni and monsters of the local area. The Sword usually becomes the Star's personal body guard or supreme general in times of war or conflict. The Sword is also the leader of the special operation unit known as the Knights of Fomalhaut.
Currently Held By: Venei Veil
This position is also determined through the Arma Di Luni festival. Instead warriors can use any form of ranged combat. The position is deemed The Star's Bow due to the bow being the most common weapon wielded. A notable warrior includes Clue Omircon who was the Star's Bow for many years whilst wielding a sling with black-powder pouches with lead beads. The Bow leads the armies ranged combat unit and is also apart of the Star's personal guard, but is more focused on protecting the Council.
Currently Held By: Deimos Veil
The Star's Conscience takes years or wisdom and prestige, so most Consciences are elves due to their long life spans, but many have been humans and other similar races. This position acts as the Star's right hand in decisions. While Dwi Luni isn't ran through a monocracy, the Star have authority over all but is kept in check by his Council and Conscience. The people of Dwi Luni also have the ability to vote and give suggestions to the council via mail or public hearings every so often. The Conscience also is the head of general science and research in Dwi Luni. Their branch focusses on pushing and developing technology in Dwi Luni.
Currently Held By: Bayer Wisp
While the Conscience helps the Star makes choices, the Strategist is the head of plans and battles. As well as the general economics and politics of the kingdom. This position takes lots of skill and knowledge of social science and political science. The position are most commonly held by a High Wisp, one of the elders and most talented members of the Wisp Family.
Currently Held By: Schnee Swan
This position is reserved for the most gifted magic users of Dwi Luni. It too can only be obtained through the the Arma Di Luni festival. But the magic branch of the festival is by far the most chaotic, magic duals of impressive and terrifying magic is used. This part of the competition is usually fought high in the sky or on the vast demi-planes created for such events.
Currently Held By: Mu Omicron
The Warmth is the highest rank for any doctor or healing magic user in Dwi Luni. This position requires vast knowledge of medical magic and the anatomy and biology of countless sentient races. The Warmth is appointed by the previous position holder, but with aid from the Star and the Council. The Warmth and their medical branch are the doctors, nurses, and runners of the hospitals of Dwi Luni. They also focus on study of curing disease and biological issues and defects.
Currently Held By: Servus Veil
The Cloak is the master of spies and is all things stealth. The Cloak is appointed by the Star and Council to do dirty work needed, train and create the high level and competent spies and reliable scouts to explore new lands. The Cloak serves completely in the shadows of Dwi Luni, they very rarely attend council meetings and are commutated with mostly through telepathy and heavily encrypted messages. The Cloak has their own prestigious team of assassins and spies that are made up mostly of Certified Under Folk, some even Twilight Devils due to their potential counter intelligence for purging others of their own kind.
Currently Held By: Superego Eclipse Project: 03
This position is the most strange. The Beast's entire being is a weapon who follows orders to a tee. The Beast can be a sentient tamed creature, or an abomination created through the farthest outreaches of science and/or magic. The Beast is kept as classified information from all besides the Council, the Star's Chosen and the Star themselves. They are used for times where ethics and morality would get in the way of ones mission. Things such as mass-execution, defending from invaders single-handedly and sparring with the other Star's Chosen for intense training are some examples the Beast would under go. Many fear the Beast, as their capability to make decisions based off free-will or morality are horrifically lacking.
Q. D. F. (Quertifa Dwi Folk)
Under Folk are indeed allowed in Dwi Luni. The Lunarians recognize the communities under the Mountain of White Leaves, and would allow them to buy and sell things in the city. It is known that Under Folk have evil tendencies, they are heavily scrutinized and aren’t allowed in capital buildings or places of high class. However, as Twilight Devils are sought out and captured, Under Folk must pass a test to confirm they are not Twilight Devils. The test was done by a high-level caster, usually someone of the Wisp or other spell-casting subfamily. They would cast Discern Next of Kin or a unique researched spell created by the Wisps named Discern Blood. These spells tell the testers the race and kin of the Under Folk. If they pass they are given an armband that says Q. D. F. (Quertifa Dwi Folk), which in common is Certified Under Folk. The armband is white or grey with a Moon sigil, followed by “Q. D. F.” then a symbol that discerns what race the Under Folk is.
