Welcome to our website! We are Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways. The Bedazzled birdhouse project is our Silver Award. The Silver Award is the highest level of award we can earn as Cadettes. For our Silver Award we built 10 birdhouses for ten different species, and worked with the town to create a birdhouse trail. In the Fall we listened in our area for the different birds we could hear. The ten most common were the Common Yellow Throat, Blue Jay, Mourning Dove, Northern Cardinal, American Robin, Chipping Sparrow, Song Sparrow, Red Winged Blackbird, American Redstart, and Eastern Phoebe. We thought of this project as a way to help people get outside and experience the nature around them, but also learn a bit about birds too. Different birds need different types of houses, so not all of the houses look the same.
DID YOU FIND THEM ALL?
The ten houses are on the trail map, so what are you waiting for? Go out and explore!
