Appearance: males are black with orange patches in each wing and a white underbelly. Female are grey and have yellow wings and white eye rings.
Habitat: open wooded habitats near trees
Food: The American Redstart's diet is diverse, consisting mainly of insects such as moths, leaves, and spiders, as well as seeds and berries.
Nests: made of birch bark strips, grass, milkweed, animal hair and feathers.
Reproduction: typically has 1-5 eggs. They are white with creamy blotches
