In the nam of god I Thom̃s bynd being in perfeyte & hole mynd ordyneth & maketh this my last will in man: and forme folowing Fyrste I bequeth my sole to almyghty god and to our lad: sancte mary & to all the holy co[m]pany of heavyn my wish [...] [...] body to be buried in the church of wassington befor the Image of Sanct Nycolas wher fore I will to the reparacons of the church vijs viijd Also to the mother churche of Chychester viijs Also I will that therbe at my burying & moneth day x priests & every priest to have for his labor viijd Also I will that the rent issues & profittes of my place & landes called Rowdell be taken & reserved be the space of vij yere next after my dethe & that my executrice shall recerve yt to pay my dettys & fynd a prieste one yere [and?] then all the same landes to returne to my son Wylliam & the heyres of hys body And also I wyll that my wyf shall not clayme hire dowry but to be content with hyr joyntur yt she hath of my landes Provyded all weye and also I wyll yt Jone my wyff have ye said landes & ten[emen]tes called Rowdell durying hyr lyfe so yt she & other persons seasid to hyr use release & geve as moche landes in value as Rowdell as now being parcell of hyr joyntur unto Wyllyam my son and to hys heyrs of hys body & moreover I will yt yf my said wife marye & departe frome the sayde landes callid Rowdell & dwell in any other place than I wyll yt ye said londes calyd Rowdell ymmediately after hyr marage and departure unto my sayde son Wyllyam & the heres of his body And I wyll yt my said wife have ye rule and custody of my said son Wylliam and of the landes to hym wylled duryng the nonage of ye sayde Wylliam & she to order and rule hyme & his said landes by ye advyse and cousell of Richard Sherley & Edward Coke Also I wyll yt myn executrice tak and perceve al the issues and profightes of all my landes rentes & ten[emen]ts in Storyngton unto the tyme that she hath received ye full sum of xxvjl xiijs iiijd and that sum to go to ye maryage of Elysabeth & Mary my daughters equaly to be devydid betwene them and if it hapen any of my sayde daughters to decesse unmaried that then she yt survyveth have the hole xxvil xiiis iiiid. Also I will yt all such persons seased or possessed or yt of ryght ought to be possessed of any landes rentes or tenementes within the Countye of Sussex to myne use in any manner of wyse be and stand seasid ther of to ye use trust and performance of thys my present wyll Also I wyll yt wher John Goring and Richard Sherley where assentyng and privy unto a lease yt I mad unto Peter Bullockherd of certyn landes in Storyngton and Coudham for ye wych lease ye sayde Peter hath truly contented me his fyne I wyll yt ye sayde Peter injoye ye said landes accordyng unto my lease ther of to hym mad Also I wyll yt yf this my last wyll be nott mayde formeable accordyng to ye lawe then I wyll yt mine executrice do call a lernidman to corecke it not changyng myne intent & last wyll.
