Make some friends... take a ride.
The Four Corners USA endurance ride is managed by SCMA (South California Motorcycle Association) and lets you start at any of the four corners. You don't have to complete the circle by going back to the corner you started at. You touch the four and go home... or keep riding somewhere. The corners are Key West, FL; Madawaska, ME; Blaine, WA; and San Ysidro, CA. You have 21 days to complete it, but we'd like to plan it in less to have buffer days to weather or mechanical issues and so we don't get tired. It does not include getting to the start point (Key West for us) or getting home after the 4th point (San Ysidro, CA for us).
This was a great ride and adventure. June 21st sticks in my mind the most. Not only was it my birthday, but we did 3 of my favorite roads: Bighorn, Chief Joseph, and Beartooth Pass. The following day was interesting because snow on our route forced us to stay in Red Lodge, MT and extra day.
Over the entire route we experienced all kinds of weather (Chicago was pounding rain and rush hour) and saw some great sights. Maine was fantastic. Blaine, WA is a nice little town. SoCal was the anticipated traffic jam, but San Ysidro was another experience. All in all, it was a great adventure.
