The Chief of Staff serves as a senior executive advisor within the New York City Police Department and plays a key role in supporting the Police Commissioner and executive leadership in the coordination, administration, and execution of departmental priorities. The Chief of Staff ensures that strategic initiatives, policies, and operational directives are effectively communicated and implemented across all bureaus and commands.

Acting as a central point of coordination, the Chief of Staff works closely with bureau chiefs, command staff, and executive personnel to align department-wide operations with leadership objectives. This role focuses on streamlining communication, monitoring progress on initiatives, and ensuring consistency in decision-making at all levels of the department.

A primary responsibility of the Chief of Staff is overseeing the day-to-day administrative and strategic workflow of the department’s executive offices. This includes assisting with operational planning, managing inter-bureau coordination, and supporting responses to major incidents and citywide operations.
