The Commanding Officer of the Critical Response Team is responsible for the direction, supervision, and deployment of CRT personnel in support of citywide patrol operations. The Commanding Officer ensures the team maintains a heightened state of readiness to respond to violent crime patterns, disorder conditions, and emerging public safety threats. Through intelligence-led policing, coordinated deployments, and close collaboration with precinct and bureau leadership, the Commanding Officer oversees proactive enforcement operations designed to deter crime, enhance officer safety, and improve quality of life throughout New York City.
