TRAINING PILLARS
The decision to use force to defend yourself or another requires intense and proper mental preparation. You must develop a mindset of deterrence, rather than confrontation-seeking behavior.
Merely carrying a firearm does not make you totally prepared for a confrontation. Carrying a firearm is one part of an overall “readiness plan” you should have established for you/your family
Consider the following questions as part of this mindset development:
Have you considered ALL civil, criminal, psychological, religious/spiritual, and emotional aspects of carrying a firearm?
Are you willing to commit to the lifestyle of carrying/using a firearm in self-defense?
Are you willing to commit to ongoing personal training at regular intervals to keep your skills sharp?
Actions made in haste/panic/for revenge have devastating and permanent consequences.
Using deadly force should be the absolute last resort and no other means of diplomacy exist.
Are you capable of using force/deadly force against another person?
Are you willing to use force/deadly force against another person to defend innocent life?
None of these prompts are meant to used as legal advice or legal defense. Seek a competent/qualified attorney in your area for further consideration of these topics.
Developing any skill level to a high level will at times require you to get out of your comfort zone. There is value in training during periods of adverse lighting, adverse weather, and difficult drills/exercises.
Remember, there is no comfort in the learning zone and there is no learning in the comfort zone.
You are not going to "rise to the occasion." Rather, you will default to your lowest level of training. Therefore, you want that lowest level to be very high. Train to a level of the highest possible competency, and then keep training.
