Do you struggle with playing golf in the wind? In this video Ken Martin, PGA Certified Professional Instructor at Keiser University College of Golf demonstrates strategies and swings to help your golf game during a windy day.

Strategies for playing in the Wind. Hi, I'm Ken Martin, PGA member and golf program instructor here at Kaiser University's College of Golf. If you haven't done so yet, be sure to subscribe, uh, and click the like, uh, for this video down below. So today in our nice calm simulator, we actually turned the wind up so that we've got a headwind of 20 miles an hour.

So. If I wanted to hit the golf ball 160 to 1 65, typically on a calm day I'd be hitting a seven iron, but into a win this strong, I would want to club up. In this case, I'm actually gonna use a five iron and I'm gonna use a nine o'clock swing because that penetrating flight will still give me the one 60 to 1 65.

The only thing I have to be aware of, of course, would be the runout because it's gonna be a lower flight. So let's give it a go nine o'clock swing with a five iron into the wind.

So we'll see what we end up with here.

So 1 62 carry. So that formula works pretty well. So practicing partial, uh, length swings, nine o'clock is a good, easy one to, uh, get a feel for. You can actually just use that flight to get a carry distance that you would normally get with a more lofted golf club.
