The Teófilo Braga Brotherhood Literary and Social Club is a non-profit Portuguese American organization founded on February 14, 1913. The club has 131 members and growing, including regular, gold card, honorary, and social members.
We have been a cornerstone to the Portuguese American community for generations. The club serves as a gathering place for Portuguese immigrants and their descendants to connect, celebrate their heritage, and provide mutual support.
Key roles of our club:
Cultural Preservation: Organizing events like festivals, dances, and cultural celebrations to keep Portuguese traditions alive.
Community Support: Assist members and the community in need, such as job placement and legal advice, as well as educational scholarships to Portuguese American children attending vocational schools, colleges, and universities.
Social Networking: Offer a space for members to socialize, build friendships, and strengthen community bonds.
Political Advocacy: Involved in advocating for the rights of the Portuguese immigrant community.
