The Finland Basic Education Curriculum states that the task of the subject of foreign languages is to develop interaction skills in the study of languages, “plenty of space for joy, playfulness, and creativity.”

The Framework emphasizes the use of diverse learning environments and varied and functional working methods.

At best, taking foreign languages to the local environment supports attachment to school, strengthens agency and involvement, and encourages participation.
