Checklist**
*to be met within ~10 days after Lost Kingdom (LK) opens, fighting does not start straight away
**power requirement for KVK 1 will be ~7 million, but if you are slightly under it and feel that you meet the 'checklist requirements', talk to the leadership
Disclaimer: The information on this page is to the best of our knowledge and experience. If you have a conflicting information or feel that we forgot something very important, let the leadership know so we can discuss it
Buildings
City Hall (CH) Level absolute minimum: 22. The higher the better of course - troop capacity is extremely important - but it's also important to do Resource management, more on that later.
Hospitals: all 4 hospitals to maximum available level, depends on City Hall Level.
Research
At least one T4 troop type. In fact, you are free to play or very low spender, you will only have the capacity for one march (which is absolutely fine, more on that later). Other T4 troop types are not necessary in this case, use the resources and speedups for other important researching.
Main priority: 'Herbal Medicine' as high as possible. There are a lot of important researches, this one just stands out due to the Health Buff which is generally the most important.
Commanders & Equipment
At least one primary commander level 60. If this commander is of epic rarity, ideally expertized. With full set of at least Elite (Blue) equipment.
At least one good pair of specific troop type commanders. Mixed troops are not recommended. Some of the F2P favorites:
Bjorn + Sun Tzu (Infantry Only). Primary/Secondary can be swapped.
Pelagius + Baibars (Cavalry Only). Primary/Secondary can be swapped.
Baibars + Aethelflaed (Cavalry Only).
Note: Secondary commander only contributes with skills, nothing else. In other words, Level 30 is enough, talents do not matter and equipment is not needed for them.
Troops
~200K T4 Troops for your main march (one type as mentioned earlier).
Siege Units: Train only T1 Siege Units for gathering. Train T2 only if there are event objectives for it, never train T3 or T4 even if you have it unlocked.
Resources
Food, Wood, Stone minimum 100 million of each. Gold 25 million. *The numbers are very rough, have as much as possible, you will always need more resources than you might think at first.
It's better to have the resources to sustain your fighting rather than one higher level CH or anything like that. The last thing you want is to be completely disabled from fighting due to lack of resources. There will be little to no time or opportunity to farm during fighting stages.
Speedups
From now on, do not spend any healing speedups. You can slow heal, there is no pressure right now (heal 1000-1500 troops at a time only, alliance help with this very quickly.
After meeting the minimum goals for building, training and researching, save up all the universal speedups as well.
Action Points (AP)
Only spend free daily AP from now on.
Buy the AP every week from VIP Shop with food.
The barbarians and forts in LK are 100 times better AP investment. Do not waste them now.
Fighting in LK
Do not be afraid to lose troops, lost troops on your stats is usually the sign of strength and bravery and it will be noticed. But remember, there is a thin line between bravery and stupidity.
Scenario 1: We've been fighting for a prolonged period of time and your hospital is 90% full. It would be foolish to go out again and fight even if you have enough troops to do so. If your hospital is full and half of your troops dead, you will not be any use to anyone. Take a moment, sort out your hospital situation and only then continue fighting.
Scenario 2: We are fighting for a very important structure. Do not ever hesitate to join the rally or the garrison to take control of the structure. The troops lost in this manner are lost for a good reason.
Avoid fighting alone in open field. Follow Leaderships instructions and markers, it will be often instructed to form a 'ball' with many players to secure an advantage. Prioritize Area of Effect (AoE) Damage commanders for such cases especially. Examples: Sun Tzu, Aethelflaed, Baibars, etc. Or Support commanders who have a large buff/debuff effects. Examples: Buff: Joan of Arc. Debuff: Aehthelflaed.
Avoid fighting T5 players at any cost. Never ever fight them alone. 80-90% of your troops will end up severely wounded. This can end your KVK before it even gets started. Just an illustration of T4 vs T5:
Beware of AoE damage at all times, try not to stay in the area of damage if you don't have to. Try to avoid standing next to structures that may be rallied to avoid potential rally AoE damage. Do not leave your marches standing together if you have multiple, especially if you have to go AFK for some reason.
In LK cities can not be attacked within the alliance flags/territory. However, if the flag is destroyed or the path cut - rendering the flag ineffective - the cities can attacked and zeroed by the enemy. If you find yourself in a war zone, always put on a Peace Shield or Teleport back to safe zone before going off for a long time. This way you will avoid getting zeroed in case enemy manages to destroy our territory while are offline.
Tips
Open-Field Fighting: You might find yourselv in any number of different situations when it comes to open-field fighting, all the do's and dont's, strategies, etc. comes with the experience. However, I will try to break down the open-field fighting into to main categories.
1. Low-Stake, Random PVP: What I mean by random PVP, is that when you are just out and about, running in a Zone to which enemies also have access, looking for some PVP, KP and fun. These fights have no big influence or stake in the big picture outcome of the Kingdoms success and you many fight as you wish to, freely. Pick someone your size (or smaller :)) and go nuts.
2. High-Stake, purposeful PVP: Majority of the fights will/should fall under this category. These will be cases where an organized fighting is done against the enemy for a piece of important territory - for example to gain control of a small territory and build flags towards an important destionation - usually this fights will be lead and coordinated by the leadership of the alliance, which will require good team-work and attention to the details.
In such cases: Never get seperated from the group. Do not be tempted to push/follow an enemy that is falling back. If you get drawn into the enemies direction, you are done and will only be providing free KP to them. In short, always stick with the group and follow instructions.
When you are in such a - so called murderball - try to pay attention if you are being targeted directly (two swords icon in the bottom-right), if so, and you are not 100% confident in your tanking ability, try to fall back slighty so that the enemy changes the target. Yes, this feels a bit 'ratty', but everyone has their role, if you are playing a 'tank', by all means do the tanking! (A lot more can be said about roles, but in short: if you have a high DPS march, you are most likely not very tanky, so you should try to avoid being targeted).
Do not underestimate the power or AoE. It goes both ways, if you are fighting with multiple marches, guide them so that you avoid as much AoE as possible. At the same time, prioritize your AoE commanders whenever you know that your are gonna fight in a murderball. What might feel like a guaranteed lost 1v1 battle, you may end up with a positive KP just due to the AoE, in some cases. As a rough example, I would rather go with a 1000 AoE Damage factor commander in a murderball than a 1400 Damage Factor Single Target commander.
*Yi Seong-Gye (YSG): okay, I want you to think long and hard before you decide to invest universal legendary sculptures and/or tons of Gems in YSG. Firstly, don't forget that an acquired Legendary commander needs 690 Sculptures to be expertized. And yes, for YSG be to as good as often advertised, he has to be expertized. He is not one of those Legendary commanders who at 5511 are already great (in retrospect). For f2p/low/mid spender this is a tough task. All I am going to say is, that I believe you will regret investing in him, if: you do not have enough to expertise him. And/Or when KVK2 and later commanders will come around, some of whom are way better down the line.
*This does not apply to whales, and I am assuming no whale will be reading this.

ROK-CALCULATOR.COM : check costs of pretty much anything in the game, building, research, training, you name it. Also includes commander upgrade costs in XP and Scluptures. Good to have an overview of how much its gonna cost and how long its gonna take before you decide to start something big.
ROKTALENTS.COM (choose a commander in the top-right corner): An amazing tool to experiment and play around with talent setups for any commanders. It gives a great overview of total buffs summed up by the talents as well, so it definitely can be useful.
