These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Thriftly mobile application (the "App"), operated by Tempered Code Ltd ("we," "our," or "us").
By downloading, accessing, or using Thriftly, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use the App.
Thriftly is an AI-assisted tool designed to help users identify items and estimate potential resale values.
The App may provide:
AI-assisted item identification
Item descriptions
Comparable marketplace listings
Estimated market values
Estimated resale prices
Estimated selling fees and costs
Estimated potential profit
Thriftly is intended as an informational and decision-support tool.
Thriftly's identifications, valuations, pricing information, comparable listings, profit calculations, and other results are estimates.
We do not guarantee that:
An item has been identified correctly
A valuation reflects the actual market value of an item
A comparable listing represents the same item
A displayed marketplace listing remains available
A displayed price remains accurate
An item will sell for an estimated price
You will make a particular amount of profit
An item is authentic, genuine, or free from defects
Market prices can change rapidly, and marketplace information may become unavailable or inaccurate.
You are responsible for independently verifying information before purchasing, selling, or otherwise making financial decisions based on information provided by Thriftly.
Some information provided by Thriftly is generated or assisted by artificial intelligence.
AI systems can make mistakes, misidentify objects, misunderstand images, or provide inaccurate information.
You should not treat AI-generated results as professional appraisal, authentication, financial, legal, tax, or investment advice.
Thriftly may retrieve information from third-party marketplaces, including eBay.
Marketplace listings, prices, availability, seller information, and other marketplace data are controlled by the respective marketplace and its users.
Thriftly does not control third-party marketplace listings and does not guarantee their accuracy, availability, authenticity, or continued existence.
Purchases and sales made through third-party marketplaces are subject to those marketplaces' own terms and policies.
Certain Thriftly features may require an account.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for activity performed through your account.
You agree to provide accurate information when creating or linking an account and not to impersonate another person or create an account using misleading information.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that are involved in abuse, fraud, or attempts to circumvent the App's usage restrictions.
Thriftly may provide eligible users with limited free usage, such as a free scan.
Free usage limits may be associated with a device or other technical mechanism rather than solely with an account.
You may not attempt to circumvent these restrictions by:
Creating multiple accounts
Manipulating device identifiers
Using technical methods to obtain additional free usage
Exploiting application or backend vulnerabilities
Otherwise attempting to defeat Thriftly's usage restrictions
We may restrict access or terminate accounts involved in such activity.
Thriftly may offer optional paid subscription plans.
Subscription prices, billing periods, trial periods, and available features are displayed through the applicable Google Play purchase interface.
Subscriptions are processed through Google Play Billing and managed using subscription-management services such as RevenueCat.
By purchasing a subscription, you authorize the applicable payment provider to charge the payment method associated with your Google Play account according to the subscription terms displayed at purchase.
Unless cancelled, a subscription may automatically renew at the end of its billing period.
The applicable renewal price will be the price presented by Google Play at the relevant time, subject to applicable laws and Google Play's policies.
You are responsible for cancelling your subscription if you do not want it to renew.
Deleting the Thriftly application or deleting your Thriftly account does not necessarily cancel an active Google Play subscription.
To prevent future charges, you must cancel the subscription through your Google Play subscription settings.
Where a free trial is offered, the trial duration and applicable subscription terms will be displayed before purchase.
Unless otherwise stated by Google Play, if a trial converts into a paid subscription, the subscription will renew according to the applicable subscription terms unless cancelled before renewal.
Trial eligibility may be limited and may be determined using account or device-level information.
Payments for Thriftly subscriptions are processed through Google Play.
Refund requests are generally subject to the applicable Google Play refund policies and procedures.
Where required by applicable law, you retain any mandatory consumer rights relating to refunds and cancellation.
You may delete your Thriftly account using the account-deletion functionality provided within the App.
Deleting your account permanently removes the Thriftly account and associated scan data as described in our Privacy Policy.
Deleting your Thriftly account does not automatically cancel your Google Play subscription.
You must separately cancel any active Google Play subscription through Google Play.
You agree not to use Thriftly to:
Violate applicable laws or regulations
Commit fraud or deception
Abuse or attack our systems
Attempt unauthorized access to our services
Reverse engineer or exploit the service for malicious purposes
Circumvent usage limits or subscription restrictions
Interfere with the operation of Thriftly
Upload content that you do not have the right to use
Use automated methods to abuse or overload our services
We may restrict or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect the service, its users, or our systems.
When you upload an image or other content to Thriftly, you represent that you have the necessary rights or permissions to use that content.
You retain ownership of content that you submit to Thriftly.
You grant us the limited rights necessary to process that content to provide the requested Thriftly functionality, including transmitting it to relevant service providers used for AI-assisted analysis and processing.
Our handling of uploaded content is further described in our Privacy Policy.
Thriftly, including its software, design, branding, logos, text, graphics, and other original materials, is owned by or licensed to Tempered Code Ltd and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Except as expressly permitted by law or these Terms, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from Thriftly or its proprietary components.
Third-party trademarks and marketplace names remain the property of their respective owners.
Thriftly relies on third-party services to provide certain functionality.
These services may include Google Firebase, Google Gemini, Google Play, RevenueCat, and eBay.
Your use of third-party services may also be subject to their respective terms and policies.
We are not responsible for interruptions, errors, changes, or failures caused by third-party services outside our reasonable control.
We aim to keep Thriftly available and reliable, but we do not guarantee that the App will always be:
Available
Error-free
Uninterrupted
Secure
Compatible with every device
Free from bugs or technical problems
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features of the App when reasonably necessary.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Thriftly is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or suitability of information provided by the App.
You use valuations, marketplace information, AI-generated results, and profit estimates at your own discretion and risk.
Nothing in Thriftly constitutes financial, investment, legal, tax, professional appraisal, or authentication advice.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Tempered Code Ltd will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar losses arising from your use of Thriftly.
This includes losses arising from reliance on:
Item identifications
Price estimates
Marketplace information
Profit calculations
AI-generated results
Third-party marketplace availability
Subscription interruptions
Service interruptions
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to be responsible for claims, losses, damages, and reasonable expenses arising from your unlawful use of Thriftly, violation of these Terms, or infringement of another person's rights through your use of the App.
We may update these Terms from time to time.
When we make changes, we will update the Last Updated date at the top of this page.
Your continued use of Thriftly after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Tempered Code Ltd, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws provide otherwise.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove or restrict rights that you may have under mandatory laws applicable to you.
