The Beginner's Guide

Besides my reel servicing works, I have also actively promoted the hobby to those who are keen on giving it a try. FishX was a programme organised by Marine Stewards and students from Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) in late 2021 to promote sustainable saltwater fishing, and was a collaboration with the National University of Singapore to collect rare species of fish for research and conservation purposes. During my time there as a guide, I decided to write an article to help interested participants choose their tackle and pivot into the freshwater luring scene. Although long and wordy, it was meant to be an informative piece to help beginners choose a suitable setup to kick start their hobby. Here is the article.
