Where reel memories are made
My Story
Towards the end of my secondary 3 days back in 2019, after about a year since I began freshwater luring and using baitcasters, I decided to give reel servicing a shot. Opening up my humble Daiwa Tatula Type-R which I bought from a school friend for $50, I took photos every step of the way, making sure I knew where all the parts went back. After about a day or two of playing around with the parts, I had memorised how to fully disassemble and reassemble the Tatula. That was my first exposure to the world of reel engineering, and the start of my reel servicing journey.
Fast forward 6 years later, I am curently an electrical and electronic engineering student at NTU. After having fished for 7 years, I understand the importance of ensuring my tackle is well-maintained and how much of a difference it can make. Be it regreasing gears to reduce vibrations when cranking, or rinsing debris out from bearings for less resistance when casting, all these seemingly small and simple steps I take in reel servicing can significantly boost your fishing experience when they add up.Â
With 3 years of experience and countless reels serviced, I have decided to set up this website in hopes of earning some extra money to cover my expenses in college, while showcasing some of my projects here as well. Specialising in baitcasters and overhead jigging reels, feel free to browse through this website and do contact me through Instagram to engage in my services!
