Before learning to service my own reels, finding affordable reel servicing as a secondary school student has often proven a challenge, resulting in me having to fish with reels that feel like mini washing machines when cranking. Hence, prices have been revised to make my services more accessible to the next generation of anglers, offering one of the cheapest services available on the market.

The basic servicing package involves a simple curation of cleaning and maintenance procedures, catered towards those just looking to have minor issues resolved, or even just a maintenance cleaning. Cleaning and regreasing of gears and drag
Removal of old grease from interior
Cleaning of casting, pinion and handle bearings only
Oiling of bearings (upon request)*
Highly recommended by many, the basic package has proven sufficient in enhancing reel performance for at least a few months depending on frequency of usage.

The full servicing package is a premium service for reels that are either long overdue their regular maintenance cleaning, or require the removal and replacement of heavily rusted parts that may have been fused to the reel's frame. A service for those who need a complete disassembly of the reel, down to every small E-clip, the package includes:
Full disassembly of reel
Cleaning and regreasing of all parts (including worm gear, line guide, etc.)
Removal of old grease from interior
Cleaning of all bearings
Oiling of bearings (upon request)*
A service only recommended to those who really need it, the full servicing package is one that will restore some of the most damaged reels to something that decently gets the job done.
Do note that a deposit for the cost of the replacement parts will be needed before I place the order online

The more dominant reel in the saltwater scene, spinning reels have remained popular even in a world full of advanced baitcasters equipped with all sorts of DC and SVS technologies. The more beginner friendly option when introducing someone to the hobby, the package includes:
Full disassembly of reel
Cleaning and regreasing of all parts (worm gear, anti-reverse, etc.)
Removal of old grease from interior
Cleaning of all bearings
Oiling of bearings (upon request)*
Do note that a deposit for the cost of the replacement parts will be needed before I place the order online
Price: $120 (excluding replacement parts) [U.P. $140]
Depending on frequency of usage, it is highly recommend to send your reel for regular servicing to replenish the grease on the gears and oil in the bearings. This is to reduce the likelihood of rusting and/or corrosion as the grease and oil acts as a form of protective layer over the parts. Moreover, keeping the gears well greased reduces wear and tear, pro-longing the lifespan of the gears and allowing your cranking to remain smooth for a longer time. This package will include:
1x full servicing
3x basic servicing (additional charge of $20 to upgrade to full servicing each time)
With 4 rounds of servicing per reel per year, it would be optimal to utilise one servicing every 3 months. However, do note that once you have bought this package, you will be required to expand all 4 rounds of servicing within 1 year from the date of the first servicing
*Do note that while oiling of bearings may add some resistance to casting and cranking, it acts as a form of rust prevention and is recommend to those who also engage in saltwater fishing
Price: $60-70 (Basic servicing inlcuded)
An add on for basic servicing, the price of drag clicker installation is dependent on the model of the reel. Although there may be a decrease in the maximum drag as a result, the satisfaction of hearing the drag click as the fish runs is appealing enough for many to get it installed! Whether you want a subtle click or a loud ring, there are 2 options to choose from so please check out both videos first before coming to a decision!
Do note that a deposit for the cost of the drag clicker will be needed before I place the order online
Price: $50-60 (Basic servicing inlcuded)
Another increasingly popular modification, a waiting time of 1-2 weeks will be needed as the reel will need to be disassembled and the dimensions of the bearings will have to be measured before any orders are placed. However, the wait will be well worth it especially for saltwater anglers who now have fewer parts to worry about rusting. Whether you are hoping to improve your distance, or just a fan of the iconic roar, the reduced friction of a ceramic bearing is certain to improve your fishing experience!
Do note that a deposit for the cost of the ceramic bearings will be needed before I place the order online
Price: $60 (Basic servicing included)
Similar to the other modification services, basic servicing will be included as the reel will have to be disassembled for the design, testing and installation of the clutch bar. Regardless of whether you are looking for better ergonomics, or just want some personalisation for your reel. A 3D printed clutch bar is one that will definitely make your reel stand out from the rest!

Sand and debris may get trapped inside boga grips after prolonged use. Hence, servicing your boga grip will clear out any form of dirt that may have gotten trapped inside, affecting its smoothness. Starting from an additional $20, the numbers can also be highlighted in the colour of your choice as shown in the second image. If you are someone who fishes at night, this is certainly a service that would come in useful as glow-in-the-dark colours are offered as well!
Price: $30++
Overtime, rod handles may accumulate scratches, stains and even have some chunks chipped off. However, it is not always necessary to replace the entire foam or cork. Instead, these damages can be easily covered up with heat shrink tubing. While the tubing alone would suffice, additional work can be done to give the handle some texture for enhanced grip. Wrapping the handle with jig-assist line in a criss-cross pattern, it would silhouette out after the tubing has been shrunk over. Starting from $30, the price depends on the length of the handle as it can take a while to align the wrapping for a nice and uniform pattern.
Price: $10 - 30
Rod handles are often prone to staining. With cork being a highly absorbent material, mud and other dirt is a lot more easily soaked up, causing the handle to appear old and worn out. To counter this, a sealant can be applied, preventing the handle from soaking up any dirt in future. By drying out the cork completely, it readily absorbs the sealant when it is brushed on. After which, the sealant hardens up and gives the cork the glossy finish as shown in the image. Once the sealant has cured, the cork or minimally, its surface, is no longer able to absorb anything else and will not stain. Offering this service for both rod handles and reel knobs, the price varies on the object's size.

The peak of reel customisation, a full take down of your reel for a careful paintjob that will not affect its performance while making it uniquely yours. This is a service that would take between 2 weeks to a month to complete, depending on the complexity of your design of choice. Although my most expensive service, it is certainly the most technical one I offer. Combining my knowledge on paint types and their ability to adhere onto the different types of plastics and metals used for the reels frame, this is one service you would not want to cheap out on!
