We started our project in October, and the first task was to create the main logo of project. Students worked individually, mostly using Canva. All the logos were uploaded to a Padlet board so that everyone could vote for their favourite.
The second task was "Starting the Herbarium". October was the perfect time to begin our adventure as detectives looking for different plant species that grow locally. Students picked up plants, dried them. In class we glued them to paper sheets and in this way we started the Herbarium. The plants were signed and photographed.
The last task in October was to do a survey about littering in the past. First, we had to create the survey and then students interviewed their grandparents or neighbours. The results were collected and summarised in international groups.
The aims of this task were: students learn about different plant species that grow locally, they know the plants that grow in different countries and their characteristics. Students cooperated to collect the plants and to create the herbarium. Developing motivation of students to identify, observe and being curious about local environment.
In October we started creating a herbarium. It will be a handmade one. Students have to collect different species of plants that grow locally.
With the help of teachers they will describe the plants: their names (can be English, Latin and mother tongue), and their characteristics. And of course the plants will be sticked or taped on a paper.
In October we will probably describe other plants, and in spring we will continue to collect other species.
Teachers uploaded the photos of work process on our shared Google Document.
As a result we will have herbariums with local plants. We will learn some of their characteristics, i.e. some of them are protected, some can be used as a medical cure and some as a spice in kitchen.

Here is a presentation of the beginnings of our Herbarium.
Every project should have its own logo, so at the beginning of ours we decided to make a logo contest.
The aims of this task was that the students practise using web tools to create logo, practise art skills. What's more, our project will have its unique logo.
Students created logos in Canva. Every school chooses only ONE or TWO best logos and teachers posted them on the main Padlet.

By giving 'hearts' on Padlet we voted for the best logo. At the top you can see the winner logo.
It was the first task of our Green Team. Students has to conduct the survey about littering. We tried to get to know if we litter more nowadays and what has changed. Students started to become aware of their impact on the environment.
The brainstorm was the beginning. Teachers brainstormed the ideas of survey questions with students. They put their questions on a Lucid - brainstorming app.
Then the teachers chose the most important questions and formed a survey.
Students conducted the survey (made interviews) with their family or friends. They were asked to survey their grandparents or neighbours who remember past decades. We wanted to compare data.
We collected the results and together with students wrote the results in shared Google Spreadsheet to store all the results.
Teachers chose small groups of students who were able to summarise the results (count all the votes, write numbers and create charts or diagrams).
Then, other small international groups will transfer those data into our shared Canva presentation.
Groups were mixed: Group A transfer the data connected to Question 1. These are students of Panagiota, Agnes & Erzsebet and Cristina. Group B transfers the data connected to Question 2. These are students of Daniela, Inga and Aneta.
Group C transfers the data connected to Question 3. These are students of Mehtap, Salvador and Maria. Group D transfers the data connected to Question 4. These are students of Feride, Monika and Marija.
As a result of this task students developed their communicative skills. They also learnt to use digital tools to summarise survey results (Google Spreadsheets) and they developed (international) group-work skills. Moreover, we formed conclusions at the end of this task which will be used later in this project.
