Welcome to Ocean Avenue’s best (and most persistent) restaurant, Bob’s Burgers! You’re just in time for our Grand Re-Re-Re-Re-Re-Re-Opening. Okay, that might’ve been a few too many res. We sort of lost count. Bob’s Burgers is one of several small businesses on the street, though conveniently, it seems to be the only one open right now. Other stores on the street include the 20th Century Store (which is apparently under new management), Jimmy Pesto’s Pizzeria (which is under health inspection), and the It’s Your Funeral Home & Crematorium (which is offering a two for one special).
Outside Bob’s Burgers, a costume-clad Gene Belcher often tries to drum up business, usually in an obnoxious but creative way. There’s a small seating area outside, with umbrellas that feature psychedelic, burger based designs on them. For now, let’s head inside to order our food. The interior of the building is lovingly and accurately rendered, with bold lines, bright, flat colors, and a simple, clear layout. Up at the counter, cast members wearing show-inspired clothing will take your order. Occasionally, you might be helped by one of the Belchers themselves.
While you wait, why not head upstairs? I mean, there’s a sign that literally tells you not to, but there’s nothing actually stopping you. Besides your ethics. Well, anyways, you can head inside each of the Belchers’ rooms. They’re great places to snap photos. Don’t think about it too hard, or else it becomes creepy. Downstairs, the Belchers have converted their basement into Bob’s Buyers, where you can buy clothing, souvenirs, snacks, and candy. Perhaps the most unique feature is the special Bob’s Burgers themed cookware available. Eagle-eyed guests will notice a few easter eggs in the shop, like a lone rotting Easter egg on an out of reach shelf or a missing poster for Daniel Belcher.
Once you get your food, you can enjoy it on the patio, at the counter, or in one of the booths. The offerings are both halal and high quality, with burgers made from freshly ground beef taken off prime cuts. While there’s no Burger of the Day in the traditional sense, the specialty burgers are intended to serve the same purpose. Instead, the Burger of the Day chalkboard features a different drawing each day. Some portray the Belcher family, while others include hints or secrets about the park. The special drawings offered around holidays tend to be the most exciting. We hope you’ve enjoyed your meal and we hope to see you again soon...we could really use the business.
Much like Quahog in Animation Dominion, Ocean Ave will be filled with walk-around characters from the show, as on any given day you might see Gene dressed in a different character proclaiming "This is me now" or him dressed as his father, Bob.
