Welcome to our Paleotropical Hideaway you lucky people you! This biome represents the Jungles and Rainforests of the tropics region along the Equator. Primarily it will focus on the paleotropical kingdom that stretchs from Africa along the southern edge of Asia to the Polynesian Islands. While kept generic and serving as more of an educational showcase of the region rather than an immersive recreation of one specific place, it takes the most visual influences from the tropical rainforests of Eastern Madagascar. Lush foliage, dangling vines, thick overgrowth, rich deep greens, and vibrant pops of colors from the tropical flowers. All centered around the biomes main setpiece: a grand waterfall that serves as the backdrop and as a fun call back to the original Living with the Land (before the Beverly Bombs destroyed it).
Near the water's edge is the Enchanted Juice Bar which serves as a showcase of the wonderful variety of fruits and floral of the tropics regions. As well as a bit about the (occasional musical) birds that soar through the thick canopies. Next to the bar is a display of Carnivorous plants from the iconic Venus Fly Trap to, my personal favorite, the pitcher plants. While this display is focused on education with signs telling guests about the plants they're seeing, there is a small shop where guests can take home their own tiny fly traps or buy plushies of the various carnivorous plants. Other displays in the area teach guests about the differences and large amounts of overlap between rainforests and jungles as well as the environmental dangers faced by these regions.
The Enchanted Juice Bar
Welcome to our other tropical hideaway, you lucky people you! This is a spin-off of the Enchanted Tiki Room franchise, which has already also gotten the Tropical Hideaway, as well as the Orange Bird himself putting in an appearance. The bar’s entrance features Juan the Barker Bird himself, now in Florida to advertise his Juice Bar.
Come! See, my new juice bar!
Set up much like a standard bar, the bar seats are shaped with animal motifs taking a page from Rainforest Cafe. Obviously, it’s largely non-alcoholic fare offered here at the juice bar; various fruit juices are the main attraction, even shown in a mock-bar setting, but there are mock-tails and obviously also Dole Whips for sale. For a more savory option, we have Handwiches; Italian Five-Cheese, Chili Mac, Ham & Three Cheese, or Hot Plantain Curry. Delicious. The juices avaliable are Orange (of course), Lemonade, Limade, a combination of both (basically an organic sprite without the carbonation), Passionfruit, Guava, Mango, Papaya, Green Apple, Dragonfruit, Pineapple, Cranberry, Vegetable Medley (tomato, carrot, beet, cucumber, pumpkin, nagaimo), Grape, P.O.G, Fruit Punch, and Watermelon. Coconut water & coconut milk are also available, plus an alcoholic fruit punch. Dole Whips include the classic pineapple, plus lemon-lime, orange, green apple, guava, and punch. Mocktails include the Rosita’s Romp (Pibb Xtra, POG, Grape), Tiki Rainstorm (Sprite, Green Apple, Grenadine, Mango), Floral Lightning (Spiced Lemon-Limeade), and Get The Fever (Coca-Cola, Pibb Xtra, Cranberry, Papaya).
Now that the food options are out of the way, there’s a focus on entertainment too. This being a Tiki Room spinoff, there are animatronics to be seen. Meet Kaito, a new member of the Tiki Room team who prefers to compose the flowers around him rather than sing himself. Kaito, with his conducting baton, will compose the crooning flowers around him, leading them in melodies from around the world including the Tiki Room’s own library of ditties. Though he’s not immune to breaking out into song sometimes. Sometimes, he’ll even conduct the visitors into singing along with the flowers. This does mean that sports televisions aren’t present at this juice bar, but there are screens, that show none other than the Orange Bird doing a calisthenics routine in time with the music. Speaking of which, sometimes he’ll come out, the vines around him on the screen closing, for character dining with the patrons.
