Suspended Monorail

On a different scale than the other WDW monorails (i.e. EPCOT - Transportation & Ticket Center and Magic Kingdom Loop/Resort), guests will board suspended Personal Rapid Transit “taxis” to get a bird’s eye view of the biomes. Each taxi can accommodate up to 16 guests (4 rows of 4). Without a driver cockpit (the vehicles are automatic), guests can look left, right, forwards, and backwards to take in the various environments. At busy times, there are three monorail trains in operation--one at each station and one in transit.

The vehicles, in addition to being automatic, are designed in a way to evoke the old-school Land Pavillion design as a homage, and even have the symbol of that pavillion embossed on them. A “face” is also present on the vehicles to indicate that yes, these are automatic and have no drivers inside. The vehicles also play music inside to add more atmosphere. At the loading station, one can see a tribute to the “Soarin’” attraction, the logo of the attraction present as a “sponsor”.

The journey begins in World Celebration. The 5-minute journey travels through the Jungle and Forest biomes on the way to the Greenhouse. Guests can also take a 3-minute journey from the Greenhouse to World Celebration.
