You have already learned the four postulates that characterize Mendelian inheritance, such as unit factors in pairs, dominance over recessiveness, segregation, and independent assortment.
However, some inheritance patterns do not follow or disobey one or two of these four postulates.
Those inheritance patterns have been grouped together and are referred to as Non-Mendelian inheritance patterns.
The different types of those inheritance patterns and their characteristics, will be discussed in this video lesson.
