The Houston Food Bank is the largest food bank in the United States, both in terms of size and distribution. It supports over 1 million food-insecure individuals through a network of more than 1,600 community partners in 18 southeast Texas counties.

Professional Development Events come in several types:
5E Lesson Plan: These are similar to how teachHOUSTON classes' 5E Lessons from Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate.
Panel Discussion: These sessions are led by a moderator who asks questions to panelists, including current Student Teachers, Master Teachers, and others.
Program Specific: These are special PDs to present various opportunities for promote programs that can be relevant for your teachHOUSTON and teaching careers.
Hands-on Workshop: These are specialized workshops designed to train participants in specific teaching skills required for the teachHOUSTON program.
The majority of our PDs will be in person. We are still offering a few online sessions via Teams for those unable to attend the in-person sessions, but we hope to see you in person!
Two PD credits will be required for each teachHOUSTON class, and each PD will count as 1 credit. Some 30-minute PDs will count as 0.5 credits.
To receive credit for attending each PD, be sure to actively participate in them and submit the reflection form at the end!
