Erasmus project "Gamification to better results - Teach me how to play" in the category of projects Key activities 2 - School partnerships scored 95 points, out of a total of 100, and was in the first place out of a total of 40 registered projects from Croatia.
The project is worth 89,280.00 euros and lasts for two years. First Primary School Varaždin is the holder of the project. In the project are also participating students and teachers from the Primary School Bistrica ob Sotli from Slovenia and from CEIP Bernardino Perez from Spain. As part of the project activities, students together with their teachers-mentors create educational games that will include content from the history, geography and culture of the country they come from, while during the mobility they will meet historical and cultural sights of project partner countries.
The main goal of this project is to create educational games to modernize the teaching process in the field of geography, history, culture and art in order to achieve better educational results.
During the project activities, students independently design and create educational games supported by ICT technology (using web 2.0 tools, QR codes, etc.), on the basis of which they will more easily and quickly master the teaching content of subjects that are difficult and uninteresting due to the multitude of information and facts. Through the exploratory way of working, students develop their creativity as well become creators of educational digital content, while teachers are only in the role of mentors.
Specific goals:
Students as creators of educational games and active users of ICT
Recognition of the educational role of ICT in teaching
Learning foreign languages and getting to know other cultures
Developing awareness of cultural heritage
