| Next Gen Timber Construction Leadership Academy
As part of the development of an IC-PBL (Industry-Coupled Problem-Based Learning) course, Chonnam National University students collaborated with Wooden House(꿈꾸는 목수), a local woodworking enterprise, to carry out a meaningful community project. Over the course of one month, the program included an orientation, on-site training, the construction of a toy house, and a closing ceremony with a donation event. Despite the hot weather, the students personally designed and built the toy house, which was later donated to a local daycare center — marking a valuable contribution to the community and a rewarding hands-on learning experience.
| Timber Frame Challenge
As part of the Timber Construction Drafting and Practice course, students participated in the “Timber Frame Challenge,” an exercise designed to explore structural efficiency using slender timber elements. Each team was tasked with creating a structure weighing under 200 grams and spanning approximately 120 cm. The structures were placed on two supports spaced 90 cm apart, and the teams competed to determine whose design could withstand the greatest load.
