Taking Back Pride is a response to the corporatization of Pride and the refusal of Twin Cities Pride to listen to community demands to remove cops from an explicitly anti-cop event. Stonewall was a protest against police brutality led by Black trans people.
As queer and trans community members continue to be targets of ongoing police violence, it is an insult to the legacy of Pride and to those who continue to be harmed by police violence to prioritize the comfort of cops and corporations at the expense of the community.
In that spirit, the front of march and the post-march rally will be reserved for our most-impacted community members and organizations that support the demands of the movement. This also applies to the rest of the protest at every level.
We will prioritize space at the front of the march and on the stage as follows:
Black trans/queer/NB folks - especially our Elders and youth who are frontliners, those living with disabilities or functional barriers, and youth - along with any loved ones or comrades
Families of those impacted by police crimes and the wrongfully incarcerated and/or their loved ones
Black-led movement organizations will also lead (we request that BIPOC trans/queer folks of those groups lead their contingents)
Organizations that endorse the march demands and organizing principles, with LGBTQ-led organizations to the front (see below)
Other community members and organizations that support the march, but not every demand, may join in behind the leading contingents. Those who cannot agree with every demand/principle can march at the end if they are Black, Trans/Queer/NB, or IPOC. Those hostile to our people and/or our movements will be asked to leave and expected to comply.

Disclose board members and investments
We use the St Paul Principles to help promote unity between different groups and to avoid helping authorities undermine and oppress activists.
Our solidarity will be based on respect for a diversity of tactics and the plans of other groups.
The actions and tactics used will be organized to maintain a separation of time or space.
Any debates or criticisms will stay internal to the movement, avoiding any public or media denunciations of fellow activists and events.
We oppose any state repression of dissent, including surveillance, infiltration, disruption and violence. We agree not to assist law enforcement actions against activists and others.
