The Steps
The first step in the design process for toy creation is Market Research. Market Research is all about finding out what the consumer wants! In previous years of completing this project, we surveyed the students in school about their favorite toys. To the right is the data that we collected last year. The best creators will use the data to determine their decision making. If you want to have a wonderful product that will fly off the shelves, you have to give the people what they want! Analyze the data in the graphs in order to begin making decisions about the type of toy that you want to create!

A prototype is a model of your toy creation. Once you have figured out all of the details of your toy it is time to put your plan into action! Using materials that you have at home, do your best to make a prototype. Get creative with the materials that you use, most products can be made with recyclable materials or items you already have lying around your house!

You will want to show your audience an example of your product (prototype) while using visuals to enhance your presentation. The purpose of a sales pitch is to inform your audience of your product and persuade them to buy it! Watch these two sales pitches below from the TV show Shark Tank to see what a great sales pitch looks like!
