The Physical Education and Intramural Clipboard Volume 6, Number 1: Teaching Games for Understanding: This issue of the Physical Education and Intramural Clipboard aims to provide you with some practical ways to teach games to your students. Lately, it seems that teaching games has become more complex than necessary. When kids are required to learn all the skills needed in a game before they actually play, much of the fun is lost. Instead, teaching games through play will provide a more active, interactive way to learn—and kids will have fun while learning

ParticipACTION

When we first started, Canadians were struggling to achieve their physical activity goals. So, we showed them how 30-year-old Canadians were about as fit as 60-year-old Swedes. When the 1990’s rolled around, Hal and Joanne were there to offer easy ways to “Keep fit and have fun” through our iconic Body Break segments.

Since 2007 we have spoken out about how our modern lives are leading to an inactivity crisis. We’ve changed many Canadians’ minds about what it means to be active. But we can all still do better.

As we move forward, we’re focussed on changing behaviour through a movement for more movement. We work with our partners, which include sport, physical activity, recreation, organizations, government and corporate sponsors, to make physical activity a vital part of everyday life. Because Everything gets better when you get active.
