Free Online Course on Teaching Mental Health Literacy
In this course, educators will learn how to apply this classroom-ready, web-based, modular mental health curriculum resource as well as develop their own mental health literacy. Educators can then use this resource designed to be delivered to regular classrooms to successfully address mental health-related curriculum outcomes designed to be delivered by classroom teachers to students aged 12 to 19.

Everyday Mental Health Classroom Resource This resource is designed to support elementary educators (K-8) in this role by offering a repository of high-quality everyday mental health practices that can be easily incorporated into classroom routines. Heart-Mind Online provides evidence-informed knowledge, insight and resources that support educators in responding to the social and emotional learning needs of students. As a portal to both research and emerging practices, this tool aligns with the broader, pro-active initiatives across school systems.

The National Mental Health Commission Review of Mental Health Programmes and Services Report of 2014 found that there were multiple initiatives promoting social and emotional health and wellbeing for children and young people across education settings. All of these initiatives were designed and delivered with the best possible intent, but had the potential to be so much more if they were integrated into one single, national end-to-end education-based program.
This program has two components: the Mental Health in Education Program, focused on the education and training of early learning, primary, secondary and pre-service educators; and the National Workforce Support Program, focused on providing education and training to clinicians and non-clinicians working with children between the ages of 0-12 outside of the education space.
