" A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work. " ------ Colin Powell
As a perfectionist, I always strive my very best to achieve my goals. I never satisfied with what I possess now. I have dreams, I have goals that I need to achieve.
I wish to become a cartoonist since very young, maybe 5 or 6 years old. I read lots of comics that my mom bought for me, and now all the comics is still kept on the bookshelves of my house. I even read books in the car, and as the results, I suffered from near-sightedness at the age of 6...
I received the best student award in Primary 6.
In primary school, I received the best student award. I am very grateful because my parents give me chances to learn whatever I want to learn, and encourage me to participate in competitions, although sometimes failures happen.
I participated in a lot of competitions since primary school, including public speaking, drawing contests, Chinese calligraphy, Australian Mathematics Competitions, Track and Field and chess.
This was the time I built up my confidence to speak in front of others. My mom is a primary school teacher, and she is the one who taught me how to give a formal speech. From intonation, pronunciation to expression, I really gained a lot at that time.
Giving a speech as a vice head prefect during my graduation ceremony of primary school.
My class, 6A !
I joined Boys' Brigade in Form 1. It is where the story becomes interesting. In BB, we are trained strictly to become a disciplined person. We have to be punctual, obey all the instructions. If not, we will get punishments.
From this organization, I learnt a lot of new skills and gained unforgettable experience. I went for a camping trip for 5 days and 4 nights, with no phones and watches (only bugle calls and gong), no proper toilets ( we have to bath in the river), no beds and blankets (only 20 men tents) .... I am proud to say that I have the experience of living in such a harsh environment, and all of us actually enjoyed in this camping trip! xD
Basic NCO Training School 2017
My Chevron when I was in Form 3.
I always push myself to involve in the areas that I never try before. I know my English is weak, especially comes to impromptu part, so I decided to challenge myself to participate in a debate competition in 2018. I finally had a chance to speak English in school (to be honest, mostly we speak Bahasa Melayu and Mandarin, and nobody speaks English). Undoubtedly, it was a remarkable achievement in my life.
I was the third speaker in Government side and I was the best speaker for this round.
Group photo of my school teams with another school. We motivated each other before competition. Although we did not make it into the final round, we still gained a lot from this debate competition.
In the same year, I participated in Young Innovative Challenge (YIC). Unexpectedly, my friends and I won the first place in state level! Our product is called Multifunctional Car Safety System (MCSS).

Graduation Ceremony
Part of the awards I received throughout the journey :DD
I wasn't sure where should I go after my SPM. Initially, I aimed to go to The One Academy, but sadly, they didn't offer any scholarships.
Then, I went for consultation at Dasein Academy. I attended the full scholarship interview, and guess what, I passed! That was a great news for me and I can't wait to join Dasein in September.
Few days later, I received an info regarding the JPA scholarship interview. I was not interested to join because I already planned to study at Dasein. I also never heard that any seniors take JPA scholarships to study in art. However, my mom encouraged me to attend the interview. I went just for it, casually.
When the results was released, my friend asked me to check the results but I didn't. I thought I was going to fail the interview. Out of my expectation, I was offered the JPA scholarships! I had a headache that time because I don't know which choice is better.
I asked advice from a lot of seniors and teachers. I was super confused because if I accept JPA scholarship, I will be the only one who study in art! About 80% of JPA scholars are going to study medicine, and others go for accounting, laws... No one goes for art field! AHHH!! I was very lost... I promise I didn't exaggerate my story. No words can describe how I felt that time.
Then, I attended the education fair in Grand Paragon Hotel and met the counselor. She advised me to accept JPA's scholarship and proceed my study in Taylor's University or Asia Pacific University. After double checking with the courses offered by JPA, I chose to go for Taylor's. It was a very hard decision for me to give up studying at Dasein which is specialized in art and design. Anyway, I am here now, to meet Mr. Charles, Mr. Ernesto and Mr. Choy. It is my pleasure to enter this top private university in Malaysia, which I never thought of. I hope I've made a wise decision, to learn and grow in Taylor's University.
I still remember that my senior told me years ago, “Wherever it goes, gold will glitter forever.” ”不管身在何处,是金子就总会发光 。“
I wish to glow and shine in Taylor's.
