To achieve this goal, I've adopted a three-step approach. I will incorporate daily note-taking to ensure I stay organized and efficient. Seeking constructive criticism from colleagues will also allow me to pinpoint areas to improve and foster growth. Maintaining a proactive stance on asking questions is another step to incorporate into my plan to achieve my goal. This proactive stance will allow me to clear confusion and further foster my growth. I am confident with these steps that I will achieve success in my role.
Growing my confidence is key in achieving my goal to grow my network. To start, growing my confidence starts by pushing myself to actively work outside of my comfort zone. Simultaneously, this confidence as it grows can be seen in my interactions with others. By practicing effective communication in daily interactions, this will ensure clarity and connection. While fostering positive interactions, I am able to build strong rapport with those around me. Building these relationships will allow me to find growth and success in both my personal and professional endeavors.
To find the ideal hotel department that aligns with my interests, I will first seek valuable insights from mentors, who can draw on their expertise in their specific departments. Actively shadowing mentors in their roles is a great way to gain firsthand experience of their daily responsibilities. Additionally, prior to getting firsthand experience, researching and conducting my own online research and refining my preferences is a great way to gain practical knowledge. These steps can guide me to find what department best resonates with my interests.
My professional aspirations are centered around marketing, where I aim to combine my creative capabilities and analytical abilities. My passion for marketing stems from the creative side, which entails product development and branding strategy. I am most interested in this area because I love the work of bringing an idea to life. The competitive environment of the industry aligns perfectly with my spirited approach, this thrill motivates and challenges me to be constantly innovative. My experience with the JW helped me to recognize that I am more interested in working with campaigns and strategy, rather than a strict focus on work with consumer relationships. My keen interests have led me into marketing. Specific career fields that I am interested in exploring are advertisement and public relations. I am open to alternative fields as they might offer me a more tailored fit for my skills and aspirations for bringing an idea to life.
In order to be successful and reach my career goals, as I have mentioned in my internship goals, I prioritize networking and learning from my peers. Sharing in the experience, advice, and skills from others working around me is a huge resource that I want to tap into. Through this experience, I've learned so much about how to interact with my peers, employers and our clients. This will be invaluable for me to take into my future endeavors. This foundation built upon my relationships with others will prepare me to be resourceful and adaptable in my professional career. For the future, my hopes is to navigate my career journey through relevant internships that will allow me to further develop my skills and provide those relationships that are priceless to me.
In a professional environment, I want to identify as an individual who is quick-witted. In my future career I envision working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Working on the red coat team was a great experience with workiMy identity is essential to how successful I can become in such roles that require independent initiative. In my position as a redcoat, thinking on my feet is a skill that I have been able to improve upon. The work requires efficient decision making to deliver to requests from clients in a timely manner. This proactive approach to work has pushed me out of my comfort zone but in the best way. While initially challenging, this approach has helped me to find a balance between making the calls and asking for help when collaboration was needed. This practice has contributed significantly to enhancing my communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating the importance of personal and professional growth in fulfilling my responsibilities effectively.
Understanding my professional identity has positively impacted my career goals by boosting my confidence. My confidence has grown as the autonomy of my work has allowed me to put my skills and knowledge into practice. I really liked having autonomy in my work, it was unlike anything I have experienced before in a work setting. Being able to see the success of my decisions along with the approval of my team has been very encouraging. This reaction has validated my capabilities, this will directly help me in my future endeavors by providing me with self-assurance. Being confident in my capabilities I believe will build my credibility amongst my peers which in turn will make me an effective leader. In the same way I found progress in understanding my professional identity through my internship, I also discovered factors that I was not a fan of. These factors being slow work, or work that dependent soley on clients and clients requests. Waiting around to have a task to do is not something I am a huge fan off, coming into work and having work to do is what I am comfortable with. Focusing on the future, this development will guide my likes and dislikes to fit into a role that will keep me facing a challenge.
My internship as an event concierge has a unique connection to my academic background in business marketing.
